Treehouse Kid and Craft

Busy parents often turn to the internet or big box stores to shop for gifts. Sure, Amazon makes it easy; Target has a pretty good selection and Walmart’s prices are hard to beat. But if you’re looking for unique, specialty or just super cool gifts, try one of Atlanta’s mom and pop shops. They offer a customer service experience you can’t get at a chain store or online. Tell them the age of the child and these toy shop owners can help locate the perfect gift. Kids enjoy going to the stores too, because they get to do something they can’t do at the other places—actually play. Here are a few of our favorites.

Kazoo Toys

Kids and parents alike go coo coo for Kazoo Toys, a truly full-service toy store in Buckhead. Owners Joe and Whitney Novak focus on a “trio of children’s fun: imagination, education and activity.” Parents can peruse their website before visiting the store to shop toy recommendations by age. They also offer call-ahead ordering and complimentary gift wrap.
